New Sprorts Libre record for ZX14 Radical at Fintray Hillclimb
At the Grampian Automobile Club's hillclimb at Fintray on 10th and 11th May 2008,
On Saturday, Angus Buchan lowered his Sports Libre (up to 1400cc) record from 31.40 seconds to 29.49 seconds.
His new 1352cc Kawasaki ZX14, fuel injected engined, Radical Clubsport proved a match for John Plenderleath's Hayabusa powered Radical Prosport.
John did manage to get within 0.11 seconds of Angus's new mark - a close run battle.
On the Sunday, the track was a bit damp so the new record was never under threat, this time John got the better of Angus by a couple of tenths.
Angus's Radical developed a mystery backfire on the Sunday, this was later traced to a pipe from the Kawasaki's clean air system having come adrift when removing the rear bodywork.
