More successes for Westgarage Radical Team
Despite an early season setback, of a blown engine, the Westgarage Engineering sponsored Radical Clubsport has been back in its winning way.
At the Fintray Hillclimb, Angus was first in class on the Sunday after being beaten into second place on Saturday by 100th of a second by John Plenderleath in his Radical.
At the Golspie Sprint, Angus set a new class record on the Saturday (Sunday was just too wet to run on the slicks)
This was followed by guest driver, Douglas Anderson, setting a new class record at the Saturday, Boyndie Sprint.
In fact the class record was broken three times, firstly by Douglas, then John beat the mark then Douglas broke the record again.
Sunday Boyndie was wet again but Angus did a fine job (on slicks), coming second to John's Radical by a couple of 10th's.
At Alford, Graham Sinclair got to grips with his new tyres and set the new class record in his Radical Clubsport.
The Lossiemouth Sprint had changeable weather on both days. On Saturday Angus was 1st in class on a damp track.
On Sunday, Angus set a new class record on a drying track.
There are now three Radical Clubsport 1100 cars running in the Plenderleath Runcie Highland Speed Championship
Sports Libre class (up to 1400cc).
All the cars seem to be evenly matched and they attract a lot of interest from spectators.
